The H&H Story
Serving Our Community since 1984
Founding owners, Ron and Lynda Hammond, started their property management careers when they bought their first investment property in 1970. Ron became a licensed Real Estate Agent in 1977 and a Real Estate Broker in 1982. Several of their friends and relatives saw how successful they had become and asked if they would manage their property as well. Then, in 1984 Hammond & Hammond was incorporated and the rest is history. For over 30 years they built a reputation for providing honest, experienced and professional property management service. In 2009 Ron and Lynda retired from the business, while the next generation took their place. Now, most days you will find Ron surfing in Malibu.
Jim Hammond started working with his parents at the age of 15, helping in the office where he was needed and learning the business. At 16 he was helping his father by doing property inspections for the US Marshall Service. Jim worked in the Hammond & Hammond maintenance department for six years, and at 21 started working in the New Accounts/Marketing department. He received his Real Estate Salespersons license in 1997. Since then, Jim has been taking new lease listings, signing up property management accounts, showing available properties and assisting clients with all aspects of property management. Jim is a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), and has attended annual education conferences for over 20 years where he earned the Residential Management Professional (RMP) designation. Jim is now the Broker/Owner of Hammond & Hammond, Inc.
Joanna started working at Hammond & Hammond, Inc. during her senior year in high school. She continued to work in the accounting department while attending college. In 1999, Joanna graduated from California State University Northridge (CSUN) with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. She left Hammond & Hammond to work for KPMG, one of the largest accounting firms at the time, where she became a licensed CPA. After four years, she took some time off to have a baby with her husband and high school sweetheart … Jim Hammond. Joanna returned to work at Hammond & Hammond and is now a licensed Real Estate Broker and co-owner. She is also a member of NARPM and attends annual conferences.
